In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and your own dogs comfort, we do not brush out dense matts that are taking longer than 10 minutes to release. These attempts can cause pain, discomfort, injury and distress to the dog.
Matted fur can be the cause for a number of skin problems. For example, hot spots, where the air is unable to circulate in these areas and can lead to bacterial or fungal infections. The skin underneath can be red and inflamed and this can be particularly painful for the dog, it is my aim to make your dog feel as happy and healthy as possible. In the cases where there is a lot of dense matts, the hair will likely have to be clipped short, sometimes the skin underneath will be red and inflamed, this is due to the matt itself or its removal. By booking your dog in with us, you release Kims Dog grooming from any liability associated with the above mentioned dematting process. I shall be happy to offer advice on coat care and a regular brushing service from just £10. Please note there is an additional charge of up to £15 for excess matts, this is due to the time taken, detangle products used and wear on the equipment.
